The Bed Bug Network
Who we help

Bed bug treatment for hotels, B&Bs and holiday lets

Guests bring bed bugs in and guests take them away again — it is the nature of the trade, not a hygiene failing. What matters is how fast and how quietly you deal with a report. We match you with a vetted specialist who treats accommodation for a living.

What makes it hard

One bad review travels further than the bugs

A guest who finds bites or a live bug will usually say so online. The operators who come out of it well are the ones who can show they acted immediately: room taken out of service, professional inspection, treatment booked, adjoining rooms checked.

Rooms turn over faster than treatments

Heat treatment can return a room to service the same day; chemical treatments usually need two or more visits a couple of weeks apart. Our contractors will tell you honestly which option fits your occupancy rather than selling you the one they happen to offer.

Seasonal peaks

Coastal and festival destinations — Blackpool, Brighton, Scarborough, Edinburgh in August, Cornwall through the summer — see infestations peak with visitor numbers. Lining up a specialist before the season is far easier than finding one on a busy weekend.

How The Bed Bug Network helps

  • Matching by postcode to a vetted, insured specialist — including the seaside and city-centre postcodes where accommodation is concentrated.
  • Contractors are scored on discretion and reliability through mystery calls and post-job follow-ups; the ones hotels rate highly get the work.
  • Heat, chemical and combined treatments available depending on how quickly rooms need to be back in service.
  • Ask the contractor about ongoing inspection or monitoring arrangements if you want a standing contractor rather than one-off call-outs.
  • Free for you to use — the quote comes directly from the contractor with no mark-up.

Common questions

Will the contractor be discreet?

Yes. Members working with accommodation are used to unmarked arrival, working around guests and keeping treatment out of sight. Mention any requirements in your request and the contractor will confirm them with you before attending.

How long is a room out of service?

With heat treatment, usually a single day. With chemical treatment, the room can typically be used between visits but will need two or more treatments over a few weeks, and the contractor will advise on when it is safe to re-let.

Should we treat neighbouring rooms?

Rooms either side, above and below should at least be inspected. Bed bugs travel along services, through wall voids and on housekeeping trolleys, so a good contractor will check before you decide what to treat.
